THE MAN IN THE TREE

The man in the tree

He stares at me

He keeps watch whenever I leave

I only see his glowing eyes

Always in a darkened sky

I fear his face will soon be shown

As fall removes the foliage grown

The howling wind warns to go back in

Stay inside till winter’s end
