PLEDGE TO THE WORKERS

By Maggie Elliott

ree

We had a change of Government who vowed to do their best

To help the working people feel well and truly blessed

But when they came to power they found a big black  hole

So immediately passed policies putting people on the dole.

They targeted the elderly who now can’t heat their homes

Choosing whether to heat or eat whilst freezing to their bones

You’ll all be £300 better off they told us every day

But along came the Unions so they gave it all away.

‘We’ll smash the gangs’ they promised, but we know they never will

They’re not really bothered ‘cos they don’t foot the bill

But giving people precedence who come across in boats

Ensures next election they’ll have millions of extra votes.

They told the out of work, the disabled and the sick

We have to cut your benefits, we’ve a savings box to tick

Now we’ve made a promise to pay Chagos lots of money

To lease back an island we already own, now that’s not funny.

Whilst household bills go through the roof, MP’s needn’t worry

They don’t pay for anything in their land of milk and honey

Life’s become impossible for those of us who’re poor

We can’t go on much longer of that I’m very sure.

Soon we’ll see food shortages as the farmers pockets they pick

They’re targeting disabled people, the old, the poor, the sick

I worked hard all my life, now I don’t live, I just exist

We’re sorry, but we have to, the Government insist.

They’re squeezing  every penny from those with nothing left to sell

The country’s woke and broke, and has become a living hell

Fully state controlled, we’re living under oppression

The government is destroying us with their net zero obsession.

What’s happened to this country that was once considered great

The elite have destroyed it, turning it into a Stasi state

Freedom of speech emasculated  the thought police in charge

Criminals are laughing at soft justice by and large.

Come the next election make an honest choice

Let them know your feelings, let the ballot be your voice

None of the main parties deserve to be elected

From the working people they are totally disconnected.

We deserve a party that helps the people their meant to serve

British life and culture needs to be preserved

Local issues must come first, global issues last

Problems are accumulating and worse to come forecast

Can’t think about the future, its looking very bleak

Those in charge don’t have clue about the havoc that they wreak

I’m glad I’m old, don’t want to live to see the consequence

Of policies and wokeness that defies common sense.

So do be very careful to whom you hand the keys

Of this once great nation that’s already on its knees

Choosing the same old parties simply brings more of the same

None fit for purpose, to them it’s all a game.

The only people winning are the rich and elite

Let’s take back control, get the country on its feet

At the local elections send a message very clear

Next General Election the main parties disappear.
