MISTLETOE PRAYER

By Anthony Watts

ree

Rootless cruiser among the anchored giants,

Balloonful of gladelight, borne on the breath of birds,

Lodge in the willow’s rigging; snaggle the hair

Of the tipsy orchard trees.

One time harvest of the golden sickle,

Come, dangle your wishbone kisses, your spermy beads.
