When night had teeth / my mistress / was all snarl and spit / beneath a slavering moon / the sting of stars / scent of heather / cool stone beneath my paws / the great roar of moor / moonlight scything silver / silent / hooded trees / how we sank our teeth / into blue veined night / I / half blind with love / gnawing the bone / of memory / a muddied counterpane / a forbidden bed / bare fists striking at my eyes / the harsh language of her hands / how I bit back / could have flayed her skin from bone / yet still I followed her / half savage with starlight / made of the same stuff / her and I / all tooth and claw / Top Withens / scriven with lichen / the roiling clouds / her flesh / shivering / blue in the wet light / the gathering storm of her skirts / teeth bared / she comes for me still / our shadows unshackled / roaming /on wind riven moor / taste of midnight / hot on our tongues.
