HUNGER FOR THE VOID

I wonder what will lift
this siege of suffering,
quaking inside my shards.
You betrayed the depths of
my hollowed soul
when you abandoned my innocence.
I yearn for the fullness
that the sun might bring
to the wickedness of your departure.
What can I do but sting
in the shadows,
as each new soul is born?
I wait to snatch their frailty,
and weave it into my sullen dome,
to feel—once more.
You have undone me.
But I will devour all
to get to you.
