You mentioned her name once,
you mentioned her name once and now I know,
her favourite song
her date of birth, where she went to school,
once.
You mentioned her name.
Once.
I cling to the words you passed in haste,
A whispered name, a passing smile,
Wondering if I’ll be replaced, my mind will twist for a while
and now I know her mother’s name.
you mentioned her name.
once
and now
a green flame flickers low.
As fear takes hold and blinds my show.
I wonder what you cannot see,
I’m caught in the webs of jealousy.
and now I know, where she sleeps.
And in my mind, the long vines grow,
From seeds I never meant to sow.
and now I know,
Her favourite colour is.
Green.
