You’d think that the sight of blood would be enough,
To act with some compassion and empathy,
To realise the urgency of medical intervention,
And perhaps appreciate the value of life,
The world is bleeding and leaders are sleeping,
The innocent massacred for their ethnicity,
Colonialism protected by the same nations,
That savagely ransacked the entire world,
Europe was built on the wealth of other nations,
Looting every mineral, precious gem, and artifact,
That has ever existed, or been discovered,
To forged an illusion of civilisation,
Museums and libraries are filled to the brim,
With evidence and knowledge from across the world,
Gravity was not discovered in Europe,
Nor were the principles of modern medicine,
The list is endless, of wealth that has been appropriated,
If reparations were ever demanded,
The whole of the “western world” would cease to exist,
Financially and culturally bankrupt for hundreds of years,
The final chapter is nearing its end,
We will witness the shift of humanity,
Moving towards compassion and empathy,
Looking beyond ethnicity and nationality.
