CHOICES

Hemingway did not threaten death often.

He just did it. No going back on that.

Socrates was forced to drink the hemlock.

Not the same but no do over either.

Religions generally condemn death

By one’s own hand, with or without reason.

Death reigns above all Life in its season.

One cannot perish by holding one’s breath --

The will to live will give death a breather.

Those who love life have joy to help them block

Fear of heights, of jumping and going splat.

Love is sometimes powerless to soften

Those things that can push one toward the abyss.

If one decides to shoot oneself, don’t miss.
