A fleeing double take: ‘Have I met you before?’
Energies aligned- a soul recognition, neither of us could ignore.
Like light from the moon, I reflected parts of you that had to be explored.
But I was, in fact, a flame. The warmth of which you felt, but you vanished into its smoke, which you abhorred.
I sifted through the wreckage that remained. I say I tried, but the ruin could not be fought.
The smoke engulfed me. But I understand now what I had to be taught.
Even if your flame scorched the remnants of our path,
Even if my spark revealed the depths of your wrath,
Even if our twin flames burned out in the aftermath,
I hope I was the match that lit your soul ablaze.
