Think of the time you took him to that

far-flung beach you all liked but he never did,

the one that goes for miles with wild waves

and an undertow that pulls the unsuspecting

swimmer down and breaks long on the sand.

He never saw the need to go so far

it was too tiring, but you looked after him

 - it is like that. We coat their feet

in Fisherman’s Green, so they can take

the home stretch through the waves of everything.

Death is a game of Hide and Seek, but some

abandon life before the count is done.
