I ANOINT MY BODY IN LAVENDER

By Jade Walker

I anoint my body in lavender

Run freely in solitude with only the wolves as company

Raise up my sacred sickle in my right hand

The sister I never had, call her to duty

Cleave through the distractions

That prevent me from being the truest form of myself

Let the birdsong drown out the songs that I loathe that you sing to me

Bleed out freely in the snow

Dragon Blood Jasper

Meditating with sodalite on my throat

I let the tears flow

I don’t know where I’m going, all I know is I have to go
