Submitting your work to the Dark Poets Club

​

There are no restrictions on subject matter or style, but as 'Dark Poets Club' suggests, we are interested in honest and enticing poetry. Be it hard hitting personal experience or global issues. We look for work that is genuinely passionate, thought provoking, challenging, inspirational and full of feeling, raw energy, imagination and technique.

Submissions can be made via email upon paying the submission fee (see below for details) for the amount of poems you would like to submit and including your order number within the email. Our editors try to respond to all submissions within 6 weeks, however during busier periods, it can take longer to review submissions, so please allow 8 weeks for us to contact you about the outcome.

Submissions Guidelines:

• We accept submissions from all over the world.

• You can send between 1, 3 or 5 poems per submission for consideration depending on the fee option you select. These can be paid via our shop + submissions page. Please note that the default currency is in GBP for simplicity however we accept orders all over the world that will be converted at your current exchange rate.

  • Submission fees not only go towards supporting mental health charities​

  • But also our colleagues and contributing readers time for all the submissions we receive that they go through (no one is expected to work for free)

  • As well as keeping the Dark Poets Club platform live so that underrepresented poets can share their work our growing readership can continue to enjoy it.

• You can increase the number of poems you submit for consideration by purchasing as many you like and mentioning each PayPal reference in your submissions email if this was your chosen payment option.

• Your submission fee goes towards supporting the mental health charities shown at the bottom of the shop page.

• Please include the number of poems submitted, their titles and their word counts.

• Poetry can be previously published. We believe good poetry, much like any art form, should be shared, not held exclusively.

• All poems must be written and belong to the submitter.

• Please submit your poetry as a Word or PDF document attached to your email. We also are accepting Spoken Word Poetry, so if you would like to submit Spoken Word please email or WeTransfer over your video's for consideration.

• Please include your name and email address on every page of your poetry document.

• Please send your work via email to info@darkpoets.club

• Due to the volume of submissions we cannot offer feedback on poetry that isn't selected.

• Selected submissions will be published on Dark Poets Club website as well as being featured in the 'The Dark Poets' section after we have requested and image, short bio and links to your relevant social media or website to fully credit and encourage others to view more of your work.

• We are dedicated to supporting our featured poets community and our curators will help to give advice and guidance where possible.
