FAMILY IRONY

We dress the dead in our family. Give ‘em some pride.

Nana’s favourite perfume is in the drawer,

Spritz it on her before the ambulance come to confirm the death.

The perfume is from Lush, called ‘Karma’.

We sprayed nana as she’s stiffening from death with Karma.

Sorry, gran.

Reminds me of when my sister asked if rigor mortis can ‘cause death’.

Told her it’s kind of a prerequisite. Her boyfriend’s perfect for her though;

Called ‘post-partum depression’ post-mortem depression.

I’d be pretty fuckin’ depressed too if I were post-mortem.

Maybe we should ask gran.
